What is Project Africa?

Project Africa is simply a project conceived by Africans and implemented by Africans to achieve self-sustained funding for environmental research in Southern Africa.

Do I need experience?

No. The projects are selected for the very reason that field assistants can be trained in a very short time to become a useful functioning part of the research process.

Where do we stay?

Each project is different. Accommodation will vary from tents to chalet's depending on the locality. Accommodation may be provided depending on each project.

Will I have time to enjoy myself?

Yes. Rest and relaxation time is built into each project. Remember that on some projects you may have to travel daily to the research site, sometimes through the best that Africa has to offer!

How do I get to the project?

You will be met at the nearest international airport to the project by an African Conservation Trust appointed representative who will drive you to the project site. They will settle you in and orientate you.

What happens if I have a medical problem?

The project managers are all certified first aiders and carry comprehensive first aid kits. We also have emergency plans in place for every project listed.

What do I need to bring?

Every project has its own requirements. We will give you a comprehensive list of clothing and equipment that you will need as well as general advice
